The Rio Real golf course was designed by the legendary Javier Arana, considered the best Spanish designer of all time.

Opened in 1965, the golf course is located in the most prestigious area of Marbella, just 5 minutes from the city center. The course runs alongside the Rio Real river, from which it takes its name. The river forms an integral part of the course until it reaches the Mediterranean Sea.

The spectacular 18-hole course (par 72) with a length of more than 6,000 meters is recognized by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation (Real Federación Española de Golf) as one of the best in Spain due to its layout, unique beauty and prestige.

The course has a wide variety of tree species: pines, palms, casuarinas, olive trees, cypresses, etc., which make it an ideal place to play golf, both on foot and with golf carts.
